Hapuu ii is a rare native Hawaiian tree fern located in a very private and quiet six acre setting on the edge of a tropical rain forest preserve. Stay in a comfortable, newly restored former pig and turkey hunting cabin from the past in a pristine tropical oasis. Formerly the original cabin on a large estate. Ideal for couples or someone wanting solitude. Experience the cooler, moist and refreshing air at 1800' elevation. View sunsets on the ocean from your private huge lanai as well as some coastline views all the way to Kailua-Kona through massive old trees. The cabin is surrounded by an ancient forest with centuries old native trees and giant tree ferns. The flowering trees (red and more rare yellow and orange) are home to many native colorful birds. Only two miles down to sea level and unique black Pebble Beach for swimming, snorkeling an easy kayak launch and whale sightings (in winter). It is also convenient to all the Big Island has to offer. There are many great beaches nearby, offering hiking or easy parking, but all outstanding and different. They include Hookena (salt and pepper sand beach with spinner dolphin sightings), Milolii Beach Park, Honomalino (very private), historic Place of Refuge National Park (world class snorkeling and Hawaiian historical displays) and Kealakekua Bay. All these are witjhin 30 minutes or less. It is an easy drive into Kailua-Kona for extensive shopping, night-life, dining, movies or boat harbor. Or the Volcano National Park is an easy day trip away. The cabin boasts new hardwood floors and new fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. It has everything you need. There is a large bedroom and big living/dining area.
