Scharbeutz (Ostholstein) is a beautiful coastal town on the Baltic Sea, the suburb Gronenberg lies in the quiet countryside at a sweet water lake yet only 3 kms from the beaches of Luebecker Bucht in vicinity to the other famous Baltic Sea resorts of Timmendorfer Strand (5 kms) and Travemuende (15 kms) with its multitude of attractions and sight seeing in the area: the old Hanseatic towns of Luebeck (15 mins by car) and Hamburg (40 mins by car), the Holstein Lake District with its old castles (12 kms away), the Mecklenburg Lake District and much more. Make Scharbeutz the starting point of your vacation: Visits to Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and the Eastern Baltic States, even St. Petersburg in Russia are only one or two relaxing days by very modern and comfortable ferries away.
