Activities/Attractions: Florence, capital of the region of Tuscany, has a population of around half a million inhabitants, spreads on the banks of the Arno, between the Adriatic and the Tyrrhenian seas, almost in the middle of the Italian peninsula. It is a city which bustles with industry and craft, commerce and culture, art and science.

Florence churches, palaces, museums and other landmarks symbolize the Renaissance and the important role Florence has played in history. For example:
- the 15th century Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, and its imposing dome designed by Brunnelleschi ... the largest religious building in all of Europe at the time
- Giotto's Bell Tower ... built during 14th century stands in Piazza San Giovanni
- the Baptistery ... dedicated to St. John the Baptist, who is the patron saint of Florence
- Bargello Museum ... one of Florence's less visited museums provides visitors with a history of Medieval Florence and the Renaissance movement
- the Accademia Gallery ... home to a collection of Florentine paintings, dating from the 13th to the 18th centuries and more famous for being the home of Michelangelo's David
- the Piazza dela Signoria ... political and civic centre of Florence featuring famous tourist attractions such as the Palazzo Vecchio, Uffizi Museum and a sculpture garden
- Uffizi Museum, the oldest museum in Europe, is Florence's most visited tourist attraction featuring works by all the great Renaissance artists of Florence and masterpieces by other world famous artists with over 1600 pieces of art exhibited in 45 rooms of the previous Palace of the Medici's
- The Ponte Vecchio bridge, dates from Roman Times and is the most beautiful of all that cross the River Arno as it flows through the city of Florence. The views from the centre part of the bridge attract visitors and on the Oltrarno side of the Ponte Vecchio you'll see the Medieval Mannelli Tower
- Oltrarno, Florence's left-bank, offers back-streets famous for their artisan workshops, delightful restaurant and authentic wine bars
- the Pitti Palace features numerous galleries and museums including: The Palatine museum which features works by Raphael, Caravaggio and Rubens, a gallery of Modern Art, silver museum and a costume gallery.
