The Trout House is nestled on the banks of a trout stream with stunning views of the Absaroka, Crazy and Gallatin Mountain Ranges and is offered year round for your flyfishing adventure, vacation retreat, family outing, or romantic hideaway.
A 30 minute drive north of Yellowstone Park, in the heart of Paradise Valley at the base of 11,000 ft. Emigrant Mountain, this beautiful log home offers all the comforts and conveniences of home in a most extraordinary setting. The vaulted great room with stone fireplace opens into the gourmet's kitchen and dining area. Large windows offer spectacular views of the Absaroka Range and the surrounding foothills. Six Mile Creek meanders year round through a grove of cottonwoods. behind the Trout House.
The abundance and variety of wildlife makes this Rocky Mountain location so exceptional. Bring your binoculars and camera, as, depending on the season, you'll have the opportunity to see mule deer, elk, wolves, mountain goats, big horn sheep, white tail deer, bear and moose. There are numerous bird species in Paradise Valley including, American bald and golden eagles, owls, hawks, falcons, wading birds, hummingbirds, and many song birds.
Guests have private access to over a million acres of public land, including those in the Gallatin National Forest and the Absaroka/Beartooth Wilderness. There are trails to hike, peaks to climb and pristine areas to explore. With world class fly fishing, anglers enjoy floating the Yellowstone River, at the end of the road, fishing gin clear mountain streams, or matching their skills with wary spring creek trout on DePuy, Nelson or Armstrong Spring Creeks. The fabled rivers and streams of Yellowstone National Park, such as the Gardner, Soda Butte, the Lamar and Slough Creek, are only a short distance up the Valley. The fishing doesn't get any better than here. Professional guide service and fishing information are available on site for an enjoyable day astream.
In the Spring migratory birds return, newly born calf elk appear on the mountain, the first tiny wildflowers bloom, and the streams open for fishing in late May. As Summer unfolds, the meadows turn to green, the robins have their chicks, elk and deer are minding their young, rodeo season is under way, floating the wild Yellowstone River is enjoyed, and horseback riding and hiking are always fun with wildflowers in full bloom.
With Fall approaching, the days get shorter, the elk are bugling, the bears feast on apples, mushrooms and late summer berries, tomatoes ripen, the hummingbirds head south, the cottonwoods and aspens slip on their golden coats, nights are cooler and the flannel sheets and wool blankets are welcomed. When Winter sets in and snow is on the mountain, the squirrels, finches and chickadees cluster at the feeder, elk graze the foothills, skiers head for the slopes or the back country, fireplaces warm the toes, and luxuriating in the spa with stars so brilliant in the cold clear skies makes for the end of a perfect day.
The Trout House is exquisitely furnished, beautifully appointed, and perfectly located for your Montana adventure. We welcome your inquiry.
