For your next vacation think Barcelona!

Vacations abroad are very expensive. If not, a quarter of the world’s population would be traveling to Europe for holidays and vacations. The largest expense for vacations abroad is the lodging. You can save money on transportation and meals but it is more difficult to save money on holiday accommodations.

Before you cancel your trip you might want to consider staying at a vacation rental or a holiday home. This can greatly reduce your lodging expense. In Barcelona, hotel accommodations could be as much as 60% higher than those of a vacation rental or holiday home.

The great thing about a vacation home in Barcelona is having the opportunity to take in the many sights and sounds of the Barcelona culture. With more cash to spend you will be able to enjoy the local culture in a much more natural setting than a motel room provides.

In many cases these vacation homes are found close to landmark attractions which are located in and around the city. Many of these sites will be within walking distance from the home.

Barcelona has a high tourist population during certain seasons. Because of this, it may be difficult to book a reservation for the vacation rental of your choice. The best way to avoid this situation is to book as early as possible. Many of these rentals accept reservations online.

Here is some information about Barcelona that might come in handy for you if you visit there:

  • Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia
  • Barcelona has become very stylish and desirable over the last twenty years
  • Often the summer fiesta celebrations last for a week. The Festes de la Merce begins September 24 and is an exciting week of music, dancing, and the famous correfoc, also known as the fire race.
  • Barcelona is predominantly Catholic and the city observes the festivals of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • The city features works of art and buildings which were designed by Gaudi, who is a world famous artist. Other artists are featured as well.

When you arrive in Barcelona you need to plan all of the following stops:

  • Rambla, the famous street that used to be a river
  • Santa Maria del Mar, a beautiful Catalan gothic church which was built in the 14th century.
  • Sagrada Familia, this cathedral, which is not finished, was designed by Antoni Gaudi. Here one can observe many symbols which are associated with the Roman Catholic faith.

Barcelona is a beautiful city which is a very desirable place to visit. Make your plans to stay at one of the beautiful vacation rentals or vacation homes during your stay there.

Taking a vacation is a time to relax and forget all of the stress we face in our everyday lives. It allows our brain to stop and take a breather so that when we return we are rested and ready to tackle the tasks that lie ahead. For most people, everyday life is stressful. We are on information overload, we have to learn new computer protocols, we have to keep up with our schedules, and we are under more stress at work. On top of this we have to remember cell phone numbers, PIN numbers, and computer passwords...
