BA connections
British Airways has told passengers with connecting flights through Heathrow that they will need to allow at least 15 minutes longer to change planes because of a worsening baggage crisis. Those connecting between BA flights in the same terminal should now allow at least 75 minutes between and departure times; those needing to change terminals should leave 90 minutes.

Safe service
The disappearance of Madeleine McCann has prompted the launch of a free service to help those who encounter problems on holiday. The website www.familysafeholidays.co.uk allows people to store vital information in case of emergencies. Photos, medical conditions, insurance details and credit card numbers can all be stored. Users can also reproduce a missing-persons poster to be transmitted over the internet.

Bangkok bicycles
Bangkok is to build more cycle paths as part of a campaign to promote environmentally friendly vehicles. The scheme aims to encourage more of the city's 10 million residents and visiting tourists to travel by bicycle.

Luton airport chaos
Delays are expected for drivers coming to and from Luton airport for the next two weekends. The A505 Airport Way will be closed in both directions between 6.30am and 6.30pm (from Gypsy Lane roundabout to Vauxhall Way/Kimpton Road junction) today and tomorrow and from 10pm on July 20 to 3am on July 23. Jets hit goal
The private jet industry is struggling to keep up with demand from Premiership footballers, according to charter operators. Private jets are affordable by leading Premiership footballers, who can earn more than ?100,000 a week.
