A math formula for happiness combines vacation and work
Thursday, July 19, 2007
|
|
(TravelConnect, UK) - Professional experts are highly recommending that math
is the direction we can balance our demanding work time, recreational time and
find happiness.
The University of Manchester Metropolitan recommends that including good
balance with work time and recreational and vacation time as in outdoor
actives will find happiness in a family.
Five simple elements are in the equation to help with the happiness with
vacation and work.
N = spending more time with nature.
O= more outdoor activities.
F= spending more time with family activities.
R= unstructured activities.
CE= creative activities and time spent.
The formula is worked out as (N+O) X (R+F) + CE
This formula will let you know if you seriously require to add or to take
some of the recreational activities out of your life or put more family
activities in your life.
A discussion with Dr. David Homes from the University strongly claims we
should be involved with one of the five elements at least once a week. 90
minutes should be of recreational or play time and of a 40 hour work week 25
percent should be one of the other five exceptional elements.
As many families are working harder and more hours the formula is not really
a good choice for some. One of the recommendations is to get out as often as
possible. For a walk in the park or just a small simple vacation
away from the everyday stress of life. Renting a
vacation home is a great
solution too.
Getting out and spending quality time with family, reopening ourselves to the
outdoors, taking on new and exciting skills for creativeness, spending time at
the beach house,
swimming at the lake... Taking time to explore an exciting adventure and play
for just play sake can take some of the everyday stress of work and life off the
family.
University of Pennsylvania's School of Medicine clearly claims that health
benefit to the family and to a single person would be a great health choice in
it self to plan more mini vacations and outdoor activities with the
family. Study indicated that out of 380 children ages 6 to 21 years of age that
over 55 percent of the children in the study, was vitamin D efficiency in the
blood during the summer months and increase to 68 percent of the children had
the vitamin D efficiency in the winter months. There are many options for family
vacations with children including
kid friendly vacation rentals.
In a conclusion according to the study and scientists, children are spending
too much time in front of TV, video games and indoors then getting good outdoor
activities and sun.
By using some of the element that has been suggested as a parent we need to
start taking more precious time for the children and on vacations than in
work.
